Unfortunately, I applied the patches, but they don't resolve the issue for me. I'm beginning to think I might be having a separate but highly related problem. Intermittently I get the black screen when waking from sleep, but I do not get a cursor and I cannot drop to a TTY to fix it. The only fix is a hard reboot. I have been having this issue for years now and it is really frustrating.
