I read this and thought "Fedora", and yes scrolling up through your report, you
are using Fedora :-)

Fedora has some hard coded defaults for indexing, out of the box it indexes
~/Documents, ~/Music, ~/Pictures. ~/Videos. These are not listed in the
.config/baloofilerc (or shown by the GUI) to start with, but if you add extra
folders to index, those "hard coded" folders may get written back to the
config.

I don't get this on Neon User and trying a few variations on Fedora, it looks
as if this is annoying and repeatable.

Will flag as Confirmed (in the contact of Fedora)
