When I create a shortcut, it is displayed with the extension “.desktop”.
It would be better if the extension could be disabled so that it is no longer
displayed.
This would create a more uniform appearance and avoid some queries.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
An example:
1. Go to a directory on the local computer.
2. Find an empty space and right-click the mouse.
3. Select “+ Create new.”
4. Select “Create shortcut to file or folder” and link to a file or folder.
5. The link is displayed with the extension .desktop.
EXPECTED RESULT
The link should be displayed without the extension. E.g., a selection function
(with or without display) when creating the link.
