Hi - to double-check, can you confirm if the alternative themes you're
selecting are applied correctly on the next boot if you run the following
command in Konsole?
pkcon install plymouth-themes
I'm suspecting that the extra themes aren't fully installed as packaged by
default, as I was able to reproduce those themes not working initially, but
installing that additional Ubuntu package seemed to fix it in my VM.
