            Bug ID: 501621
Summary: Let kdenlive open video files on startup
    Classification: Applications
           Product: kdenlive
           Version: 24.12.1
          Platform: Ubuntu
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: User Interface & Miscellaneous
          Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
          Reporter: tomaspa...@centrum.cz
  Target Milestone: ---

It would be really nice if I could open a video file with kdenlive, i.e.,
select a video file in the operating system file browser and say Open with
kdenlive and kdenlive would setup a project with the same properties as the
video file and add the video file to the clip bin.

This would be super convenient for making quick edits to video files, e.g.,
when I want to cut parts of something I shot with my phone. Right now on
Ubuntu, I have to start kdenlive from the system Start menu or from a desktop
icon, then do "Add clip or folder" and find the video file in the file open
dialog. Doing all this with a right click on the video file would be really
smooth.
