Bug ID: 501265 Summary: Add ability to drag-and-drop icons in properties dialog Classification: Frameworks and Libraries Product: frameworks-kio Version: 6.8.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: Properties dialog Assignee: kio-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: c...@horwell.me CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 179248 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=179248&action=edit Example of dropping a custom icon on button SUMMARY As a user who customises a lot of folder icons, it would enhance productivity if the file properties dialog (as used in apps like Dolphin) could support drag-and-drop to set a custom icon, as opposed to many steps to achieve the same thing with the file picker. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Right click a folder → Properties. 2. Drag-and-drop an image file (PNG or SVG) to the icon button. OBSERVED RESULT Cursor shows a clashed circle, not possible. Must perform many clicks: 1. The icon button ("iconButton") 2. Click "Browse..." 3. Drag and drop the desired icon. 4. Accept the file picker. 5. Accept the icon chooser. EXPECTED RESULT Icon button implements the drop event for valid image files.
