Same here running running on bare metal and not inside a vm. There are
currently two workarounds for me, both with its own set of drawbacks:
1. "Configure Yakuake -> Windows": Below "Size and Animation" uncheck "Ask the
window manager to perform the animation", but I get some other rendering issues
(incomplete rendering of yakuake until mouse over and similar)
2. Use wayland. Sounds like a good solution but I need to use proprietary
software (webex) for work which still only works partially with wayland.
