Wayland doesn't work properly with Nvidia GPUs, it's a well known problem. I can't even test on wayland because, with my actual GPU, I just get a black desktop and can't do anything else than forcefully reboot the pc using tty. I found a workaround for the bug though, I think. I've tried applying a rotation to the notes applet. And ever since, when the desktop initializes, all the applets get stuck to the upper left corner, then they magically get back to their spots with the right size when the desktop wallpaper appears.
