Hi, JabRef offers the possiblity to import PDFs by drag'n'dropping them into the current database. In 2.7b, Mr. DLib functionality is offered. At some papers, this service does not extract much data. Sometimes, I don't want to send papers through the web...
Therefore, I coded PdfContentImporter.java, which tries to get as much information as possible from the PDF. The text from the first page is pasted into "review" to enable a copy and paste of text after the automatic guessing. Feel free to test it and report suggestions. The patch and the binary are availble at: http://ge.tt/9Idc446?c For me, it works on Springer LNCS and some IEEE papers. Next steps are to improve IEEE import and add support for "Information Technology and Managament". I'll commit the changes soon to the repository.
