The workaround is now described on the Checkstyle Plugin site at
http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-checkstyle-plugin/examples/upgrading-checkstyle.html
If those instructions does not work, then please file a separate JIRA issue
describing why it does not work. Please include a complete minimal pom.xml that
can be used to test it.
I'm working on version 2.15 of the plugin now, which will include this issue.
