M2Eclipse as of the 1.0 release will not support project files generated with
the maven-eclipse-plugin. We receive too many support questions and there is
too much user confusion over what works and what doesn't. If users choose to
employ the maven-eclipse-plugin then they will not be able to use M2Eclipse 1.0.
