Replaces the hand-written CI job with the shared `maven-verify.yml@v5`, as the other Maven plugins use, and adds the Maven 4 build. This carries #671 by @Bukama: its commits are kept as authored, and the last commit completes the switch, which #671 started but did not reach (its job still ran the old steps). The build matrix stays JDK 11, 17 and 21 on Temurin and Semeru, without Semeru on macOS: JDK 11 is the plugin's floor, and Temurin 25 and later ship no `jmods`, so the jlink ITs cannot run there (#675). Toolchain JDKs are turned off because the default set includes JDK 25 and the build uses no toolchains. The old job saved its Maven cache, and through `setup-java`'s defaults every JDK it installed, from each branch and pull request: 87 entries across five scopes on 2026-10-24. The shared workflow saves only from `master` and `.x` branches and does not cache JDKs. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
