The default is "2.1". When "3.x" is configured, ejb-jar.xml is optional. It generates site docs, and spews an INFO log entry indicating the ejbVersion value. It turns out that EJB3 jars behave differently when there is an ejb-jar.xml file, and so you MUST have the ability to omit this file. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
