I wonders me why this is pseudo-merged: https://github.com/apache/maven/blob/ecfff2626c719b916e37a685d5154cf2fa52b0ba/maven-resolver-provider/src/main/java/org/apache/maven/repository/internal/RemoteSnapshotMetadata.java#L121-L138 The properly determine the diff, but throw away everything existent.
