I just ran into this as well; it seems like it's not just the docs that need to
be cleaned up, the deploy-plugin itself [declares this
parameter|https://github.com/apache/maven-plugins/blob/db9f7af5f543db63b4abe228e6167243e9f7f2c3/maven-deploy-plugin/src/main/java/org/apache/maven/plugins/deploy/DeployFileMojo.java#L192-L196]
and then [throws away its
value|https://github.com/apache/maven-plugins/blob/db9f7af5f543db63b4abe228e6167243e9f7f2c3/maven-deploy-plugin/src/main/java/org/apache/maven/plugins/deploy/AbstractDeployMojo.java#L106-L112].
