We are aware there's already to much text on the [main
page|http://maven.apache.org], especially compared to our competitors. We still
haven't found someone willing to redesign the site and restructure the content.
However, IMO the download page seems quite clear. I cannot understand what made
you (and others) choose a sources bundle over a binary bundle. It's like you
landed on a different page when starting to use Maven.
