I am running Lucene on our system which worked great with Lucene 3x for years and years. When we tried to upgrade we can no longer keep up with searches. Lucene is always getting stuck in the compression layers. I can either make an additional manual RAM cache for documents or disable compression. Why did this fix not a disable compression setting? I don't think this request should have been closed as I've still regularly got 1000 threads in my app stuck decompressing documents and I supposedly am already using the default fast compression.
