You don't have an objection to them being used for highlighting though, right? In the elasticsearch percolator we have a bunch of workarounds to fetch stored fields from elsewhere when highlighting because we can't get them from a MemoryIndex. Which is a pain. I understand your objection to what we're doing with stored fields in elasticsearch (although I disagree with it!).
