I opened https://github.com/apache/lucene/pull/754 with a few fixes. It just
implements a few low hanging fruits that help significantly speed up nightly
tests, more work is needed to tune e.g. numbers of iterations, but this needs
more work to understand how much coverage it would invalidate, so I'm not
tackling it for now.
