There is no fix for the JDK 17 issues with garbage collection and disabled tiered compilation. From Java 18 on we can use the new MemoryCopy class to do bulk copies. It also supports byte swap to adjust endianness: https://github.com/openjdk/panama-foreign/pull/555 The results look promising.
