David Smiley commented on SOLR-14066:
-------------------------------------

I'd like to swap the @Deprecated Java annotations for a @deprecated Javadoc
tag. Rationale:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-12987?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17203524#comment-17203524
-- basically, prevent Deprecation warnings in the log that needlessly concern
users. Any concern with this? If I don't hear to the contrary, I'll make this
change this weekend in time for 8.7 hopefully.

> DIH doesn't need to remain inside Solr anymore. Plan is to deprecate DIH in
> 8.6, remove from 9.0. A community supported version of DIH (which can be used
> with Solr's package manager) can be found here
> https://github.com/rohitbemax/dataimporthandler.
