See the e-mail I just sent about using your IDE well (in the badapple report).
IntelliJ will highlight any method that could return null and is dereferenced.
It's worth looking at these that when working on code to see if the inspection
reveals something that should be guarded against or not.
Now that there aren't any warnings in the code, more of the tools' warnings
like this will actually mean something.
