Thats a good idea, worst-case the python code can check and just fail hard if 
needed on old pythons. [~mikemccand] has an idea of a sort() or something we 
can sprinkle into the code that may give us a deterministic order. I meant to 
compile an old python and try it out last night, but fell asleep.
