I'd be more than happy to backport the docs changes myself - I have other
changes I want to make there, so can do it all together. BUT that means that
there will be conflicts backporting the commit as-is. The bug fixes would need
to be similarly manually applied to branch_8x in that case.
I'll hold on the doc changes until Noble can reply about what's going on with
the code changes.
