Jan Høydahl commented on SOLR-14083:
------------------------------------

Please specify what version of IE you are using. This is probably some
unsupported JS things. I doubt we want to spend too much time supporting IE
though. I don't even have a Windows machine :)

Unless someone whips up a patch to make the UI work, I'll add code to detect IE
and throw up a big warning on top that we don't support that browser, and also
add some phrasing to the RefGuide about the same.

> Solr GUI access through Internet Explorer

> Key: SOLR-14083
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-14083
> Project: Solr
> Issue Type: Bug
> Security Level: Public(Default Security Level. Issues are Public)
> Components: Admin UI
> Affects Versions: 8.1.1
> Environment: Internet Explorer
> Reporter: Craig Oakley
> Priority: Major
>
> I have {{security.json}} setup to require a password for the top level of the
> GUI
> When I try to access the Solr GUI through Internet Explorer, it does not
> prompt for a password, but instead brings up a crippled version of the GUI
> This used to work in earlier versions such as Solr7.4; and it is working on
> Firefox, Chrome and Edge
