@eric-maynard I don't believe this encoding has been formally adopted by the Parquet community (despite it being on the docs page). There are a number of v2 encodings that are in the docs, but were never adopted, so we probably should add support until we have a clear vote from parquet. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
