I agree that we should consider an alternative approach to avoid including these changes in `_ColumnNameTranslator`. Specially since projection rules would be in different places in the code base. However, since this is an important bug fix that needs to be included in this release, I think it's fine to proceed as is. Let's make sure to open an issue to refactor this code in the future.
