Update : We do have tests to read metadata tables https://github.com/apache/iceberg/blob/main/spark/v3.5/spark-extensions/src/test/java/org/apache/iceberg/spark/extensions/TestMetadataTables.java#L225 And a proper fallback if such kind of resolution fails https://github.com/apache/iceberg/blob/main/core/src/main/java/org/apache/iceberg/rest/RESTSessionCatalog.java#L494 is this rest catalog you are using, returning correct errors back to the client so that the client can try with new identifiers ? -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
