We are using EMR 614 with Apache Iceberg 1.3.1 and ranger plugin for spark and emrfs/s3 to govern access. We were hoping that existing ranger plugins for spark and trino would support the iceberg access and to a certain extent it does, for an example users with read access on a hive table can not migrate it to the iceberg table however we were surprised to see that users with read access on an iceberg table can perform rollback snapshot operations. Is there a way that we can prevent users with read access from performing such metadata change operations on iceberg tables? -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
