There's nothing we can do. The language simply doesn't support it.

If you wish to test Qt 5, you need to branch off your sources anyway and begin
porting the C++ side first. It should hopefully be quick. Once you're done,
replace all your import statements in the QML world and change the loader
class. Then fix up your QML code as needed.

That applies even if you don't have C++ code to begin with. That just means
your C++ porting time will be zero.

You have to use your revision control system to keep both versions, not
#ifdefs.
