Well, since I'm maintaining cyrus-imapd rpms and I didn't want to maintain my own set of cyrus-sasl rpms. I do it for the older RedHat versions but wanted to stop it because the newer versions include SASL v2. So, I thought if it's just a small problem in 2.2.1-BETA, it was better to fix it there and make it compatible with cyrus-sasl >= 2.1.7 again.
