Actually, Tom (twk) had a very helpful response. I was leavin goff the "user." in the reconstruct command, as in:
reconstruct -r user.esanborn I never saw this in the documentation. -Ed -----Original Message----- From: Connie S. And, generally, it is very quick. I have had problems with clients that still didn't see the files after all was said and done--had to close them and reopen. c* ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ed Sanborn" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Connie S. OK, so I create my new IMAP mailbox from within my IMAP client, restore the messages to the new mailbox, and then do a reconstruct. Alright, now reconstruct, when I execute the command, basically it quickly returns a prompt and nothing appears to have been done. With a hefty mailbox (100 messages) should it normally take some time? Obviously system dependant, I'm just looking for other's experience with the command as there doesn't seem to be any status output as to what the command did. -Ed -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Connie S. Also, you cannot create directories under the inbox with the usual unix procedures--must do it with an imap client or cyradm. c* ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ed Sanborn" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, March 11, 2002 3:07 PM Subject: restoring email > Hi folks, > > When restoring IMAP email, what is the best way to restore? > That is, I have a directory like: > > # ls -la > total 26 > drwx------ 2 cyrus mail 512 Mar 11 16:04 . > drwx------ 68 cyrus mail 3584 Mar 11 16:04 .. > -rw------- 2 cyrus mail 3041 Jan 29 09:27 1. > -rw------- 1 cyrus mail 911 Mar 11 16:04 238. > -rw------- 1 cyrus mail 780 Mar 11 16:04 cyrus.cache > -rw------- 1 cyrus mail 137 Mar 11 16:04 cyrus.header > -rw------- 1 cyrus mail 96 Mar 11 16:04 cyrus.index > -rw------- 1 cyrus mail 56 Mar 11 16:04 cyrus.seen > > If I restore an old message and plop it into this directory it does > not seem to appear in my IMAP client.
