i went back to cyrus-imapd-2.0.16 and cyrus-sasl-1.5.24, and *surprise* everything works like it should. i used cyrus-sasl-2.1.0-1.src.rpm from redhat's rawhide. this package includes cyrus-sasl-1.5.24 and cyrus-sasl-2.1.0. but if i use the libs from that package with cyrus-imapd-2.0.16 or cyrus-imapd-2.1.1, i would get the 'permission denied' message. so it seems to be a problem with that specific package. is anyone using that package with cyrus-imapd-2.1.1 ? i just want to be sure, that that package is the reason and not cyrus-imapd. ciao -ap System Administration VIRBUS AG Fon +49(0)341-979-7424 Fax +49(0)341-979-7409 [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.virbus.de
