Latest cyrus-imap : 2.0.16
latest pam_ldap : 0.120 (or something like that)

how was your openldap compiled ?
what are the library linked ?
are you using rpm ?

But you are right. I'll re-install my FreeBSD server with a RH 6.2, the 
best unix :))
