In fact Silkymail is distributed with a preconfigured version of 
apache, php... but you can very easily incorporate the changes needed 
in your own version. This is what we have done. This involves mainly to
build libimsp supplied by silkymail, replace the oroginal php 
functions/imsp* by Silkymail supplied ones and rebuild php. But I 
agree, this is not really documented...

As for php4 support, this is a current issue. But Silkymail should be 
supported on php4 in the coming months... as far as I understood. The 
main problem is that imsp is no longer in standard php4 distribution.
