Please do not translate a response to your comment as anything
personal. I say silly things all the time.
At any rate, based on the discussions I've witnessed on this list
over the years, and my personal experience with using the Cyrus code
in production environments, I think it is pretty safe to say that
those using Solaris will probably experience fewer problems with
this still very new and rapidly evolving code.
Personally, I'm extremely grateful for all the work the CMU folks
have put into Cyrus. I think that griping about things not being
perfect on every platform is not being terribly reasonable. If you
don't like how things are working out on that platform, or I should
think anything else for that matter, try contributing code, as
others have done. If it is a pretty reasonable patch, I think they
tend to be pretty good about considering it.
Also, if you're going to use the Cyrus code, I think it is important
to keep up with the releases. This is especially true with the
rapidly evolving 2.x branch.
