Hi Patrick, I'm a ridiculously happy user of Cyrus on OBSD 2.7 (I'll upgrade to 2.8 this weekend). However, I did NOT feel I needed the added complexity of the SASL library and do not use sieve. I've found version 1.5.19 to be very stable, albeit incompatible with Outlook 2000 but compatible with OE, Eudora, Netscape, Pegasus, and Mulberry. I installed the package from their web site, and followed the Linux how to (don't forget the pwcheck daemon). The only thing I had to was create the deliverdb entries under /var. This may not be the ideal solution for you. For my needs, supporting a moderate volume of mail from a handful of trusted users, using TCPwrappers/IPF for access control and IPSEC or ssh for privacy, and have no need of quota support this works for me. I'm quite appreciative of it's (relative) security and speed. Let me know if you would like specifics of the install; it may be an option to get this up and running and move onto a newer version at a later time. However, read the change log and make an informed decision about the impacts of the bug fixes since 1.5.19 before installing 1.5.19 I should note that we are considering lifting the IP restrictions so I'll upgrade to 1.6.2x for the TLS support and to fix suid issues. I do not monitor the info-Cyrus list (although I'm a member) but rather use it as a reference in time of trouble :> Please cc me if responding to this not. I'll try to peek in there now that I'm sending to that list but can't promise a swift response with out a cc :< > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of > Patrick Ethier > Sent: Tuesday, December 19, 2000 6:17 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Headache with IMAP > > > Hi people, > > This is my last resort.
