Yes and no. AFAIK ispell (as well as most other spellcheckers) can only
handle the regular permutations and has additional (unpermuted) entries
for irregular words (such as "mouse" -> "mice" which I think have 2
entries
in the dictionary, not one). "Simple" irregular words (like "trousers")
can be done with modified rules for word permutations.
However, as this is not perfect and you need to adjust the dictionary
for
new or incompletely handled words, it would lead to the same effect that
can be seen by automatic translation software.. they do pretty good on
romanic languages though and you - as French - might not recognize it
too
much, but if you do not speak a romanic language (germanic, asian,
arabic...)
you'll go nuts soon.
Btw... there is already a good approach to internationalization in the
GNU
gettext effort, so I don't see a reason why we should re-invent the
wheel.
