Hi,
No version of HPLIP has worked for me since HPLIP 0.9.2.
I just installed hplip-1.7.3 from the .run package and still
no joy. I think I first noticed the problem with 0.9.4.
Debian 3.1, Linux 2.6.18-3-k7, Athlon / NForce II mobo,
LaserJet 2300 connected via USB. Printing directly from a Mac
works and printing from Linux with HPLIP 0.9.2 works but due to
dependency issues I can no longer keep that version installed.
Same problem on two different (but similar hardware/OS)
machines.
The printer is correctly identified, I can select it and
configure it from CUPS, but printing fails. The syslog message
is always:
hpiod: invalid MLCInitReply: cmd=80, result=2 , revision=20
io/hpiod/mlc.cpp 355
Any suggestions or anything I can do to help diagnose the
problem?
Thanks, Merlin
