I can confirm that in DFU mode with the 2014.08.1 firmware loaded and
 without a reset, I'm able to use the board (tested with GQRX &
hackrf_transfer) and the new firmware works as expected, ie the IF spectrum
 is not inverted (tested in FM band).

Thanks. It definitely sounds like there may be a problem with the
flash chip or the SPI peripheral on the microcontroller.

Which version of HackRF do you have?

Hi,

Sorry for not answering sooner this week but I was on the field without a reliable internet link.

So far, this is the version I use:
- The HackRF board is one from the kickstarter batch:
        - Board ID Number: 2 (HackRF One);
        - Part ID Number: 0xa000cb3c 0x00584735;
        - Serial Number: 0x00000000 0x00000000 0x457863c8 0x26466d1f.
- The HackRF software is 2014.08.1 & come from the official Fedora repository.

On another subject, I was able to test this week my hackrf board with firmware 2014.08.1 using the dfu trick. The result are great ;) - Work well under 10Mhz with Ham It Up board v1.2, even if she was not as good as the perseus (but this was expected). - Excellent result for the VHF/SHF bands, and she was quite usefull when we needed to replay some burst for futher analysis with our R&S equipment. - Nice result for radar analysis (using hackrf_transfer & baudline) in the UHF/SHF band.

Thx

Bernard
