Either way, speaking as someone who has just spent a week dressing human forms filled with ballistics gel & latex (don't ask), it is possible to prop something human-shape in the way shown in the photograph. Loose clothing is the key. To be really morbid, could one of the kids be holding the boy's upper body up? Still, my vote on this one is vertical pole behind, probably using the belt to hold the bulk of the weight. Keeping the upper body from flopping over is the problem.
