not really.... well, not much... my husband found a duvet cover at St Vinnie's the other day, lovely cherry cotton velveteen. he's crowing about making a summer-weight frock coat for his steampunkery, since I got him the patterns last Christmas... of course, the pattern came with 2 vests, but not a double-breasted one like he wants... or maybe we'll experiment with this stuff and use it for a lining eventually?
for myself, he also found a P(urdue?) black melton stadium blanket at the same store?, the preceding week, for, again, $11.99, for MY current daydreaming project, a Caucasus "burka", men's winter garment, as per this pic... http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/11/02/1032423/-Why-Winter-is-Good-for-Occupy-Wall-Street And of course, as soon as we found this fabric, it got warmer! Still working through cleaning up the blanket, deciding what to do with the excess fabric (probably going to leave it attached but hemmed up or something...), and whether or not the cleaned-up wool will be nice enough against the skin, or if I'll have to figure out some sort of lining... Part of the clean-up involved leaving it out on a clothes-line for several days... the way the water beaded on the surface was just classic! chimene On Jan 17, 2012, at 12:16 AM, <penn...@costumegallery.com> wrote: > Hi Patricia!
