I encourage people to go to Costume-Con regardless of your level of costuming experience. I have been to two CC and find the people SO friendly. They love to talk about their costumes and how they made them. Last year I did meet more h-costumers than the one at Baltimore. The CCs seem to take on the personality of the location. Both years were so different. I do like when the event is all on one floor of the hotel...more people seem to get to mingle.
Last year the topic came up on h-costume about newbies worried that they didn't have a costume to wear. I haven't worn a costume either year and didn't feel bad and no one treated me differently. I am there as press and photographing, so it is not practical for me to wear a costume. When Robin first met me at CC, I was laying in the floor photographing costume details. One of the things that I really enjoy about CC is meeting costumers of all ages. Last year we had a blast photographing a little girl in an 18th Century costume. She stole our hearts! We met some mothers who designed costumes for their children. It was a chance for them to brag about their creations...child and costume. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
