I realize that Costume Con is run entirely by volunteers, but, at the only  
one I attended, I found the education sessions to be distinctly sub-par.   
When I told a costumer friend about that later, she said, Well, you don't go 
to  Costume Con for the education, you go for the masquerades.  I was only 
able  to attend the historical masquerade, and it was very good--I was, 
indeed,  impressed with the tech crew.  And I found the marketplace excellent.
 
I didn't know until the last minute that I would be going; if the stars  
ever align again, I hope I can plan enough in advance to offer to be on a 
panel  myself.
