I fully agree! (Although this discussion not touches groff, it's Heriloom troff (derived from Solaris ditroff) related.) The source had been distributed with the PDFs, but not the fonts. They will be changed now to free fonts which can be distributed. DWB (i.e. ditroff) for example has all documention as source code plus a makefile.
