I see that, starting yesterday, the XFree86 development list is archived here. It looks like this is shaping up to be a useful and widely used service.
The XFree86 pointer here was so new, that the URL direct to that specific archive was not available. It sent me to the mail-archive.com search page with the key word "devel". That gave me back 74 hits four of which were "devel". Manifesting more clue than I usually do, I moved my mouse over the different links and let my browser show me the URL's for the different devel lists. Sure enough, one had "xfree86.org" in it. QUESTION: Might it be possible and reasonable to show more than just the list name in the search results? If I were in more of a hurry, I would have forgotten to glance at the URL display, and been frustrated that the four "devel" hits were not obviously differentiated. Would making the link string contain the whole list address, in this case "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" be reasonable? Or is that too easy for web-crawling spam bots to utilize? (The string is already in the URL, after all.) If so, maybe the '@' could be parsed out so search results would show richer list names. Thanks again for a good service. -wdc _______________________________________________ Gossip mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://jab.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/gossip
