As far as I'm aware, OVER_QUERY_LIMIT doesn't create a notification.
It just fails until the limit expires.

Consistently exceeding the limit might generate a warning message from Google.

Create a new console key and use it instead of the Version 2 key. You
should be updating your map from Version 2 to 3, but the new keys will
work with a V2 map. And allow gathering of statistics.
