Dear colleagues,

since last week, BASE(www.base-search.net) <http://www.base-search.net/>
allows searching for 90 million documents. The metadata are provided by
4.200 repositories,
which means that BASE is the second largest academic search engine
behind Google Scholar.

For more than 30 million documents BASE can indicate Open Access relying
on metadata information provided by repositories. We estimate
the overall OA percentage about 60%, OA documents will be boosted in the
result lists.

Several interfaces provide access to the BASE index for commercial and
non-commercial discovery-systems, other search engines, special libraries
and others for reuse or new developments. BASE is therefore
strengthening the visibility of content provided by repositories.
