My experience with user profiles on Windows computers, is that you need to
logout of one profile before you can login to another.  And that means
closing down all programs first.  (Maybe they have improved?)

When partners in a family share a "family" computer, I think it shouldn't
be a necessity to have such strict structure that everyone's work is kept
totally firewalled from everyone else's.  That's one way of doing it, but
not the only way.
