Hi all.

After a while that I'm using Geoserver, I think that it lacks a basic
feature in the Layer Settings page. In the Data tab, while it's possible
to see the column of the table that the layer refers to, it's not
possible to view the database table name used as source for the layer
itself.
Wouldn't be useful to add such information right over the columns list?

Moreover, in some cases it could be useful to change the undergoing
table. For example, think when you have a table on the database, and
different views that refer to it. Now, if I create a layer and I want to
change the table/view to which it refers, I need to modify the XML
definition of the layer directly.
I think could be profitable to add such feature in the layer edit panel.

Regards,
